A Head Spa session should care for more than the scalp. Because guests remain at the shampoo station for much of a 70 to 90 minute program, the way the body, neck, and head are supported can shape the entire experience. Siesta selects near-flat ergonomic shampoo beds to make long treatments feel stable, comfortable, and easy to settle into.

Comfort with Thoughtful Neck Support
Excessive neck extension at a shampoo basin has been discussed in medical literature, including rare reports described as Beauty Parlour Stroke Syndrome. This does not mean an ordinary salon visit is inherently dangerous. It does show why reasonable neck positioning, suitable support, and attention to guest comfort matter during an extended service.
Our beds are designed to support a more neutral resting position and reduce unnecessary pressure around the neck and lower back. No bed can eliminate every health risk, but thoughtful ergonomics can make the treatment more comfortable and reduce avoidable strain.

Why Siesta’s Ergonomic Shampoo Bed Feels Different
| Comparison | Typical Upright Shampoo Bed | Siesta’s Ergonomic Bed |
| Reclining Angle | May keep the torso more upright. | Near-flat position: supports a relaxed resting posture. |
| Neck Support | Support depends mainly on the basin edge. | Cervical support: helps keep the head and neck comfortably aligned. |
| Pressure Distribution | Pressure may feel concentrated in fewer areas. | Contoured support: distributes the body’s weight more evenly. |
| Long Sessions | Comfort varies with the design and guest. | Sustained comfort: selected for 70 to 90 minute programs. |

Support from Neck to Lower Back
Lumbar Support
The contoured bed supports the body from the shoulders to the lower back. This can reduce the need to keep adjusting position during a long treatment and helps the body feel settled while the therapist works.
Cervical Support
Soft neck support helps the head remain comfortably aligned with the body. The therapist can also check positioning and adjust towels or support according to the guest’s comfort. Guests with an existing neck condition, recent injury, dizziness, or concerns about positioning should tell the therapist before the service.
The Benefits of Proper Alignment During a Head Spa
- Deeper relaxation: a supported posture may make it easier to rest during the program.
- Less pressure and shifting: even support helps reduce discomfort from staying in one position.
- A smoother treatment flow: the therapist can focus on scalp, hair, neck, and shoulder care without repeated repositioning.
Experience Comfort Designed for a Complete Head Spa
At Siesta, comfort is not an extra detail. It supports every part of the treatment, from cleansing and Water Flow to the therapist’s hand techniques. The result is a Head Spa experience designed to feel considered from the neck and back to the scalp and hair.
